FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Below are some answers to our most frequently asked questions. If you don't see the answer to your question below,
please contact us at fhq@alphaxidelta.org or by phone at 317-872-3500.
What is Convention?
Convention is a chance for collegians and alumnae to come together to conduct Fraternity business, recognize achievements, and learn about new programs and initiatives. It occurs in odd-numbered years.
Who can come to Convention?
Any Alpha Xi Delta in good standing is welcome at Convention, as are vendors and guests. Each collegiate chapter sends a delegate, and many send more than one member. Alumnae associations can send a delegate. Sisters who are not delegates are welcome to attend specific Convention events, or the full event depending on registration selection.
If I’m in the area, can I stop by and say hi, or register on-site?
No, we will not accept onsite registrations. We cannot prohibit you from visiting the Convention hotel, but you will need a Convention name tag and lanyard to gain entrance to all Convention sessions, meals, rooms, etc.
What is considered Fraternity business?
Our National Convention includes formal chapter meetings where Convention Delegates receive policy and program updates from National Council, vote to update or amend the Constitution & Bylaws and other policies, and elect National Council for the next biennium.
What do I do if I need special accommodations?
There is an opportunity to provide your requests during registration. If you forget something or need to amend your request, please contact
Lindsay Eichelman, Director of Events and Administration, at leichelman@alphaxidelta.org. Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate last-minute meal requests on-site.

Do I book my own hotel accommodations and travel?
Yes, attendees are responsible for booking their own hotel rooms and travel. For the room block website with our Convention hotel and other travel information.
What should I wear?
We will wear primarily business attire during the day. This is a chance to break out your nicest badge attire! (Don’t forget your Quill badge!) For events like Rose Banquet and formal dinners, cocktail attire is expected.
Will we have free time to explore?
Yes! Part of the fun of Convention is exploring our host city with Sisters!

What are the COVID-19 protocols?
The health, safety and wellbeing of our members is of the utmost importance. Alpha Xi Delta will ask attendees to participate in a pre-travel and daily health check assessment. If an attendee is not feeling well, we ask that they do not travel to Convention or that they remove themselves from the day’s activities. We will also follow the parameters given by the local municipality and venue. Please understand that these can change prior to your arrival and we will communicate specifics as we become aware.

Will there be any formal tours or tour groups organized by the Fraternity?
Alpha Xi Delta will not be organizing any sightseeing or tour groups for Convention attendees. There will be plenty of time in the schedule for Sisters to use their free time however they wish - attend a Broadway show, dine at a iconic restaurant, go sightseeing, shop, relax and so much more!
